“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”
1 Corinthians 13: 7-8
A heartfelt thank you to the Diocese of Trenton’s Pastoral Care Training Program (PCTP), to its Program Director Deanna Sass and assistant Deborah D’Agostaro, and to the many talented Program Instructors – Fr. Cesar Rubiano, Dr. Zeni Fox, Sandy and Michael Mullarkey, Mary Neary, Eugenia McAuliffe Kelly, Fr. Michael Hall, Dr. Adriane Gulotta-Gsell, and Monsignor Michael Manning — for providing me and my fellow classmates the blessings of becoming a Certified Pastoral Care Minister.
This leading edge and comprehensive 6-month training program touched on a host of important pastoral ministries that govern everyday parish life including Bereavement and pastoral care for those suffering from Loss; care for the Sick and for individuals in Prison; and the gift of bringing the Holy Eucharistic to those who are homebound, living in nursing homes, or in assisted living facilities; The PCTP also provided us with an in depth examination of the significant bioethical issues that many families are facing today when a loved one is at the end of life. I am really looking forward to serving my fellow brothers and sisters in this new role as a Minister of Pastoral Care as it represents an important next step in my faith journey. My training will leverage the volunteer work I am currently engaged in as a Trustee of St. Catharine-St. Margaret Parish and Catholic Charities and as a member of Bishop O’Connell’s Diocesan Planning Commission that is looking for new models of parish leadership that can more effectively coordinate programs and resources across our 99 parish communities.

I am also happy to announce that I will be expanding my current service offerings at Kirnan Coaching Associates, LLC to now include Spiritual Coaching for those clients where their spirituality plays an important role in their walk of life and career. This new service offering will complement the Executive, Career, and Life Coaching services that I have been providing to my clients since 2014. In the weeks ahead, I will be adding a second blog called The Spiritual GPS which will complement my other blog Coach’s Corner with Dr. K and will focus on how scripture and spiritual principles can often provide a pathway to healing, new discovery, and fulfillment. Looking forward to all of the new challenges and opportunities that lie in the months ahead and never more grateful than I am today for the privilege of working with my clients, fellow parishioners, and coaching and professional colleagues.
Blessings to all, Dr. K
